Material Composition

Hastelloy alloys are primarily composed of nickel, molybdenum, chromium,

and other alloying elements such as iron, tungsten, and cobalt, 

depending on the specific grade. Common grades include Hastelloy C-276, Hastelloy C-22, and Hastelloy B-3.

Diameter Range

Hastelloy rods are typically available in diameters from 5 mm to over 150 mm,

depending on the alloy and intended application.

Applications

Used in the production of valves, pump shafts, fasteners, reactor components, heat exchangers,

and other critical parts for industries such as aerospace, 

chemical processing, power generation, and marine environments.

Mechanical Properties

High strength, excellent toughness, and fatigue resistance.

They maintain their strength and integrity even under high-temperature and high-stress conditions.

Corrosion Resistance

Outstanding resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments, including sulfuric,

hydrochloric, and phosphoric acids, as well as seawater. 

Highly resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.

Thermal Resistance

Excellent performance at high temperatures, capable of withstanding temperatures over 1000°C (1832°F)

without significant degradation in mechanical properties.

Forming & Fabrication

Hastelloy rods can be hot-rolled, cold-rolled, or forged, depending on the required mechanical properties.

They can be machined, welded, and cut to specific dimensions.

Heat Treatment

Hastelloy rods are often heat-treated to enhance mechanical properties like strength and toughness.

Solution annealing or stress-relieving heat treatments are common, depending on the alloy and application.

Welding & Joining

Hastelloy rods are weldable using techniques like TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas),

MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and electron beam welding. Special care is required during welding to prevent material degradation.
